The Christmas Dog

The Christmas Dog
by Melody Carlson

Genre: Realistic Fiction
Where to find this book: Boston Public Library

What is the main idea?
I really enjoyed this book because it had 3 of my favorite things in it: Christmas, dogs, and God. I love how the first character you meet is so religious and confesses many things that she feels bad about like trying to get rid of a dog and yelling at her neighbors. When her niece shows up her life gets interesting.

What did you like about this book?
I loved that the dog kept coming back to her house and that it probably saved his life. He showed up at the door with a rope on his neck which gave her the wrong idea. Not my favorite part.
